Hand Printed Gift Wrap and Card

Gift wrap and card set made using the rubber stamps I carved. It was fun, and the results were pleasing. :)

Kelsey's Shrug

Kelsey wanted a shrug and I found a great pattern on ravelry. The pattern has minimal seaming as the body is knitted in one piece. Kelsey loves the shrug and finds every opportunity to wear it! (We live in Singapore, where it's Summer all year!) The original pattern is for 3 months to 2 years but I've adapted it to fit Kelsey (9 years old) easily and opted for short sleeves. You can find the Free Pattern here.

Rubber Stamp Carving

Tried my hand at rubber stamp carving recently and its totally addictive! I bought a book by haru, read it, bought some erasers from the shops and started carving. I use my stamps for cards, book covers, book marks, labeling, gift wrapper and so forth. This bird cage and bird is one of my favourite so far.

Completed Projects

Tada! I completed this last month and it was a quick and fun project. This Badger is a Debi Birkin design and I must say the instructions were easy to follow and not fiddly at all. I modified the Badger's dress and added the Christmas stocking because Christmas is drawing near. I always like to do some Christmas-sy craft during this period.

Yummy cupcakes anyone? I experimented with different weighted yarns and its a great way to use up my stacks of leftovers yarns. I use them as pin cushions and they sit prettily on my work table. I think I'll be making more of these.

Kyle's 6th Birthday

Kyle turned six on 4th October 2009. We celebrated his Birthday with loads of activities. We celebrated it over 2 days. It started the day with a new haircut, complete with styling gel and hair colour spray (although you can't quite see it on the photos). His new hairdo received quite a few compliments and he looked really pleased.

We then brought him to Toys R Us to choose his Birthday presents. He picked out 2 Hot Wheels Sets and a Ben Ten set. We then proceeded to the Orchid Bowl at Downtown East and he (us too!) had so much fun bowling. (see the video) By the end of 2 games, we were all pretty tired. I think Kyle's top score was 56. If you thought that's all the program we have planned, then you are wrong! We bashed on with our sore arms and legs to the Arcade for the Animal Kaiser game Kyle is so hooked on now. It was not too difficult to convince him that we should head home to play with his presents when the sun was setting (we were also out of tokens!). So, it was off home for his Birthday cake and presents. All in all, I think he really enjoyed his 6th Birthday and we were proud that he did not forget to thank Kelvin and I for planning it. Argh! Sigh! Sob! Our baby has grown up.
